Findling (Vanity No. 1) is an erratic block weighing 4 tons, elaborated painted with Vanity car paint using an industrial process. This is an ultramodern, expensive pigment mixture devised for high-performance cars that produces a chameleon effect; as the viewer moves, the colour changes in nuances from a rich green to a strong purple. The work was realized for the Froh Ussicht project in Samstagern. The painted rock, pushed slowly around Europe and rounded off by nature through glacier movements thousands of years ago, stands there in the meadows, between the motorway and the farm.
